SAGAS OF THE EARLY DAYS - WINDSOR LANG

Sagas of the Early Years are a series of articles written by Mr. Windsor Lang. They deal with the development of the district from the time the first ship battled through the wild bar at the river mouth to investigate the Richmond. Mr Lang has coloured the historical facts with local references and interesting sidelines of the pioneers lives.

    1. Early discovery & settlement

    2. The coming of the cedar getters

    3. The cedar seekers were rugged men

    4. The laws of the cedar-getters were their own

    5. Life moves up the Richmond on Rafts

    6. The Big Scrub, Australia's other Eden

    7. The cedar was a characteristic tree

    8. Precious cedars and the coming of the Windjammers

    9. The sea-dogs go ashore

    10. Some tragedies of the bar
