LENNOX HEAD: On 26th and 27th August 1828 , Captain Henry Rous explored a river which he named the Richmond River and its north headland, Lennox Head, which he named after Charles Gordon-Lennox (1791-1860), the fifth Duke of Richmond  of the Lennox line (Daley, 1967)
